Location: South Alabama (Gulf Coast Region)

Reports to: VP, Purchasing and Supplier Development

 

Basic Function:

This is a new position within BBB Industries which will develop the Demand Forecasting Function to improve accuracy of the forecast allowing for improved order fill rates with lower inventory levels. Goals will include:

Analyze historical internal and external sales data, economic and environmental factors, and industry trends to identify demand trends and develop demand forecasts. Calculate the impact of new business on existing forecasts. Provide detailed information on future demand to Operations and Purchasing. Analyze inventory to optimize customer needs while conserving capital. Analyze raw material targets to support manufacturing plans. Work closely with Operations to reduce inventory through progressive management  techniques such as lean implementation and improved demand planning. Aid Purchasing in improving the overall supply chain function with special focus on reducing lead times and improving material availability. Future responsibilities may include staffing, training and leading the demand planning and inventory control function Assist IT function in selecting the proper software (bolt-on modules) to aid in demand forecasting and inventory control.

 

Minimal Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical field of study.

 

Experience & Requirements:

Years of experience are not as critical as the quality of experience. Nevertheless, a candidate should have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in demand planning and inventory control in a manufacturing environment.. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Highly analytical with a passion for statistical analysis. Experience in high volume, lean manufacturing environment with a high degree of complexity. Experience in the Automotive Aftermarket industry is a plus. Ability to make timely, educated decisions in the absence of 100% of the data. Well versed in MRP systems. APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
